The Artist

Adam Chibba is a multidisciplinary artist whose work is deeply influenced by the bold, expressive nature of graffiti and street art. Currently based in London, Adam’s primary medium is spray paint, but his practice also incorporates a range of other materials such as acrylics, paint markers, and oil-based paints. His recent works focus on camouflage-inspired canvases, drawing inspiration from the urban environment—particularly the textures and forms of London’s architecture, fences, street objects, and surveillance systems.

Adam's creative journey began in his childhood, influenced by the raw visual energy of graffiti culture and the music videos of the Gorillaz, where gritty, animated characters and urban scenes played a pivotal role in shaping his artistic worldview. Artists like Atlas CBS and David Choe further deepened his connection to the graffiti world. His early experiences at Magic Pony, a Toronto-based gallery and collectibles store, also had a lasting impact. There, he discovered vinyl figures like Dunny and a wide array of artistic styles, all of which broadened his creative horizons and ignited his love for blending various mediums.

Adam's artistic process is intuitive and ever-evolving. He often begins with a loose concept but allows the work to develop organically as he engages with the materials. Using various spray nozzles, stencils, and hand-drawn elements, Adam experiments with texture and technique to bring his imaginative visions to life. His art is often a reflection of his surroundings, translating the grit and complexity of urban life into vibrant, layered compositions.

In addition to his individual practice, Adam values the importance of community and feedback. He is inspired by the work of other artists and often draws motivation from the support and critiques of family and friends. This engagement with others helps him maintain a fresh perspective, while his self-discipline ensures that his work remains authentic and deeply personal. Through his art, Adam continues to explore new techniques, themes, and ideas, with an unyielding commitment to originality and creative growth.
